Custom Hair Pieces
Men & women use custom hair pieces to enhance their appearance and gain confidence.
Custom hair pieces are appropriate for those:
Ø who have thinning hair on top of their head or all over
Ø who have alopecia
Ø who have scarring or may have been burned
Ø who are going through chemotherapy
Ø who have lost hair due to hormone changes, aging, illness and medications
Ø who have male/female pattern baldness
Ø who wish to enhance their appearance and have fun with difference looks
Custom hair pieces are made from 100% human hair. Our hair is guaranteed not to have significant tangling issues. Hair color is blended exactly to match your color with highlights and lowlights if needed. We use many different kinds of hair, ie Russian, Italian, Indian, etc. in an assortment of textures: straight, slight wave, medium wave, curly and afro. We are able to match almost any hair color and texture.
The hairpiece is designed according to your style preference, for ex. having a definite “part” or “freestyle” having no part; having volume, or worn more flat.
A mold of the client’s head is made and the base of the piece is designed to fit exactly the client’s head shape. The base can be made with various materials such as monofilament, lace, skin, stretchable lace, and others. Often the base is made combining different materials together.
Custom hair pieces are designed according to how much hair the individual has or does not have; the climate where the individual lives, and if the person is planning to wear their hair underneath or not. For example, a person undergoing chemotherapy may want a piece which has flexibility to be worn when they have their hair growing back and also when they have lost their hair. In this instance, a stretchable lace material would be chosen for the sides and back, allowing room for hair to grow; and monofilament or skin for the top giving a very natural appearance. On the other hand, if the hair loss is a permanent condition, the piece would be designed to always fit snug to the head.
The custom pieces are all hand ventilated (except for Le Full Piece withWefts).
Hand ventilated means the piece was made putting 1-2 hairs at a time into the chosen base material. It is labor intensive, and therefore more expensive that the ready made pieces.
Custom hair pieces can be designed to attach with clips, tape, glue, microcylinders (linking) or poleweaving.
You are informed and approve the work every step of the way: from the making of the mold – to choosing the base of the piece – to viewing the hair color before the piece is made. Custom hairpieces can be made completely in our lab in Los Angeles, CA 90049 or they can be made overseas. It depends what is important to you and how much you want to spend on the piece. Custom hairpieces made overseas are less expensive and the order will take longer to make.

BUYER BEWARE: many hair replacement companies call their hair pieces “custom” when they are not. In other words they are buying stock pieces and ‘customizing’ them.We do this also which is reviewed in the “ready made” section. There is an enormous difference in quality between ready made pieces which are ‘customized’ and our 100% hand made custom hair pieces.

Custom hair pieces can be made as full pieces covering the entire head: Le Full Piece; as partial pieces: Le Three-Quarters’ Piece, as top pieces: Le Top Pieces (Le Full Top, Le Gigi Top, Le Crown Top, Le Center Top), as integration pieces which are partial full or partial top: Le Integration Piece, or as accent pieces: Le Bun, Le Ponytail, Le Yoga Band & Le Halo, Le Bang and Le Front, Le Extension Petite. and Le Barrette. Hair pieces can be designed any way which serves the purpose of the client.
All Hand Ventilated
Pieces can be ordered uncut or cut.
Top Only Hand Ventilated with Wefts
With this design, the top of the piece has been hand ventilated and wefts are sewn onto a stretchable mesh fabric creating the rest of the piece. Because there is far less labor involved, it is less expensive than the fully ventilated piece.
Hair integration pieces are designed for those with very thin hair. This may occur only on top of the head (especially with breast cancer treatments) or throughout the entire head. The hair piece may be designed with slits in the base through which the client pulls their own hair. They may be clipped on and off by the client or worn more permanently when attached for ex. with microcylinders.
We have designed numerous integration pieces, with very different designs — no two are the same for a client. This is where the art of customization really pays off since the design takes into account exactly the density of hair you need to add to your head to create the volume you want which looks natural. Therefore the slits in our bases are not the same size since your hair may be more thin in one area than another; and there may be sections of the piece where you need the base without the slits, for ex. where your hair is very very thin.
Most hair replacement centers do integration pieces very poorly: the piece has holes, all the same size throughout the top which the client pulls their hair through. We have found these pieces do not work well for many reasons: they show too much, do not address the specific hair density needs of the client, are not comfortable, and are difficult to pull the hair through. By contrast, our integration pieces, are not detectable, integrate beautifully with your own hair, are easy to use and extremely comfortable. You will not find our designs anywhere else since they are unique to us, and patented by Hair in Vogue Inc.
Le Integration Piece: Top
Three Quarter Pieces cover the top, part of the side, and part of the back of the head.
Men most often need this size piece. Sometimes people decided to make this size since it is more comfortable than wearing a full piece and provides considerable coverage.
Le Bun is designed to wear all your hair back and rolled into a bun, and the dome shaped base fits over your hair-bun.
Le Ponytail come in different designs.
The piece is constructed with two combs fitting together which we have put skin and hair onto. In this scenario, the piece integrates into your own hair. In other words, all your own hair shows and the piece fills in your own hair.
Your hair is pulled back into a ponytail. The piece has a claw clip which fits over your ponytail. There is a netting fabric over the claw clip, and the hair has been ventilated onto the fabric.
Both of these pieces create a fringe of bang effect and have hair which fills in the side of the face as well.
Le Yoga Band has hair attached to a head band, whereas the halo does not. Both are great for putting on when you are in a hurry, or traveling, or going to exercise. You can look great in seconds without fussing with your own hair.
This piece creates a bang for you. It is made out of the ‘skin’material and ventilated with hair. The piece has clips attached.
Le Front covers the entire front portion of the head.
